There are 5 badge levels in the 308 range, each with its own unique aesthetic identity - the 308 Urban, S, Sport, SE and GT. There are also several new features within the range including:

Peugeot's partnership with the BMW Group has engineered 3 high performance petrol engine options:
- 1.4 litre VTi ( 95 bhp)
- 1.6 litre VTi (120 bhp) - top speed 120 mph
- 1.6 litre VTi (150 bhp) - top speed 132 mph
There are also 3 diesel engines and for the first time ever in Peugeot history there is a diesel automatic. The 308 is responsive and engaging thanks to a longer wheelbase, wider front and rear tracks and new hydro electro- hydraulic power assisted steering.
You will instantly notice the striking nose, sculptures bonnet and distinctive lines of the flanks. There is also the sweeping V shape which sweeps from the nose to the tail and is echoed inside like a design motif.

The 308 is one of the first range of cars that offers CO2 emissions under 120g/km which is very green indeed. Drivers of the 1.6 HDi Diesel Turbo (90 bhp) will receive a 30 per cent road tax reduction from the Chancellor in October 2007. Drivers of the 308 also enjoy great fuel efficiency due to the superb aerodynamics, smart engine technology and Michelin energy saving tyres.
Electronic stability Control is available as well as Steering Stability programme. In addition there are up to 9 airbags, ABS and Emergency brake assist. There is also a lane departure warning system in case you stray on the motorway.
